Burns Lake, BC

Providing a cost-effective, streamlined solution for volunteers.

The Burns Lake Fire Department is an all-volunteer unit, led by Chief Jason Berlin. Prior to getting their units, training was very difficult and expensive. The firefighters would have to take time off from their jobs and travel long distances. Training two firefighters could cost up to $6000 per trip. They decided to work with Fire Training Solutions to build a training centre of their own, with the goal of providing all levels of training locally.

This structure includes:

  • Three 40 ft. containers
  • Two-story setup with a 20 ft. opening between the level one units so large groups can observe fire behaviour in the Class A burn room
  • Six windows
  • Roof grating and rails
  • Roof prop
  • Forcible entry door
