Two-phase project designed for versatile training needs.
In 2016, the Wallace District Fire Department embarked on their long-awaited plan to set up a fire training centre. The end design was straightforward, within budget, and encompassed all they were looking for. After completing phase one in the spring of 2017, Wallace Fire Board Chief, Brad Yochim, was already thinking about expanding.
One of the best things about containerized buildings is the versatility and ability to make changes. Chief Yochim wanted to add a third story through the addition of a 40 ft. unit. He had a Fire Training Solutions engineer redraw the blueprints to ensure spec compliance and safety, and the installation was accomplished by local tradespeople.
Phase one of this structure includes:
- Three 40 ft. containers
- 10 ft. Class A burn room
- Concrete floors
- 12 ft. steel maze with movable walls
- Interior and exterior stairs
- Rappel hook on rooftop
Phase two of this structure includes:
- Addition of one 40 ft. container
- 6 ft. BBQ balcony
- Two steel windows
- Additional interior staircase
“Thank you Rich and Mike from Fire Training Solutions. The process of planning and putting into place our new training building went very smoothly. The build day was perfect and was up and running in a day. The firefighters love it and it will serve our department for many years to come. I recommend Fire Training Solutions to any department that is looking at doing a training building.”
– Brad Yochim, Fire Chief
